That's a great point, Juhi, and it's why we've focused on something quite challenging with Biznik - getting people away from their computers to actually meet each other, face-to-face.That's where the real magic happens, the stuff you're talking about - the potential for cohesion. In our case so far, that's meant slower growth, because building those authentic relationships is a lot more work than adding someone to your friend list. But it's building a really solid foundation. I'm looking forward to seeing how this all develops too!

Dan,

Thanks for the comment. As you’ve mentioned, creating a healthy community requires more than simply facilitating the flow of information. Interactive tools and applications that enable innovative communication and collaboration between users on social networks such as Facebook or business networks such as TalkBizNow, LinkedIn, Biznik, etc. are only useful if they encourage users to engage and cooperate as part of a long-term, cohesive community. Simply patching together “super networkers” and using other such mechanisms will not be enough to establish this cohesion. Regardless, I look forward to watching how these different networks grow and develop. Best of luck with Biznik!

It's possible to buy traffic, but I sure wouldn't spend my investors money that way if I were them. The secret sauce of any community - what will make it successful over time - is authentic community. And that's much harder to buy.

This post is a great example of the power of social media to hold organizations accountable for what they say. Thanks for taking the time to pick up this conversation and clarify it with the Alexa graphic.

Clothing that could change color at the click of a button on your laptop. Imagine the program Paint...but for your clothes. Or imagine, downloading a design from google image onto your shirt.

Cell phones that could create and therefore cancel not white noise, but YOUR voice so that no one but the person on the other end of the phone could hear what you were saying. This would be especially useful for subways and other crowded areas.

Just about everything that the Weasley Twins thought of in Harry Potter.
